Subjects:

All the subjects you'll be studying in Block A and a brief explanation of each.

• PRA

  In PRA (practice), you will work independently on an assignment provided by the school. You will use all the knowledge you've gained in theory classes. Sometimes you'll work on these assignments alone, but often in groups, which will teach you how to collaborate effectively.

• PRO

  PRO (practice support) will teach you how to plan and design before starting a project (writing code).

• NATIVE

  In Block A, you will work with the micro:bit in these classes and program it using blocks. After that, you'll start working with your first programming language in this subject, Python. You will learn how to use loops and read files.

• WEB

  In this subject, you'll learn to create websites just like this one using HTML and CSS. Towards the end of the block, you'll also learn a bit of PHP and JavaScript, but not much. In Block B, you'll dive deeper into learning PHP and database integration.

• DUTCH

  In Block A, you'll mostly work on assignments in Dutch and take a few tests. In later blocks, you'll use Dutch class to work on your internship application letter and CV.

• ENGLISH

  In English, you'll also work on assignments and take a few tests in Block A. If you work quickly, you can complete your English requirements in your first year, saving you from taking it in the following years.

• MATHEMATICS

  In Block A, mathematics consists of completing assignments and taking tests, similar to English and Dutch. You may also be asked to take a test to determine if you are ready for the final exam. If you pass this test and then pass the exam, you won't need to attend mathematics classes anymore.

• MENTOR CLASS

  In Block A, you'll explore your future career options and what you envision for yourself a few years after completing the program. In subsequent blocks, this class is primarily used for internship guidance. (You'll also have POR discussions every few weeks in which you evaluate what's gone well and what you need to work on, among other important matters).
