At Curio, we teach you how to become a programmer. When you're done, this means you can pursue a wide range of jobs or further education. You start by learning web and native development, so you can feel confident even if you've never touched a development tool before. Then, in the third year, you make your choice: web developer? Or native developer?
In our class, Bart is often referred to as the help desk because he exudes such vibes. He is very helpful and kind. He has been a mentor and peer tutor to me.
I didn't have Corne for long, but what I can still remember about him is that he was a task-oriented man who was eager to teach us. Even though he did tend to repeat himself.
This was my mentor in block A. He's big on making jokes but can also be very helpful. A great mentor to have at the beginning because he can show a lot of empathy.
I've only had Fedde as a substitute, but from what I've seen, he's good at keeping students engaged with the material.
I haven't had classes with Ine myself, but from what I've heard, she's super nice, active, and helpful in assisting others.
Michel, our native and mathematics teacher, is great as a teacher and also to have a casual chat with. Often, my classmates and I would stay after class to talk with him.
In my opinion, the best web teacher, he can explain well and thinks along with you. He's also one of the teachers we enjoyed staying with after class.
Wicher is a fan favorite among many teachers and students. He's known for not taking school too seriously, and that's precisely what makes him a fun teacher.
I haven't had much experience with Wiro (Markiplier) myself, but so far, he's a good teacher. He's kind and has the best interests of the students in mind.
Also known as Bart2, Bart is a relatively new teacher, and the age difference isn't very significant as a result. This makes the lessons very enjoyable.
Mustafa is a teacher who mainly lets you do your own thing. He'll ask you about your progress in every lesson and gently push you towards an exam, but other than that, he lets you work at your own pace.
Krist is a teacher who, much like Wicher, doesn't take school too seriously, and that's what makes him fun. He often just walks into the class to have a chat and gets along well with many students.
Eva is the teacher we get for subjects that she herself usually didn't put much effort into in school, and that makes those lessons super funny and enjoyable. She's very kind and is always willing to help as much as she can.
I think Tim is truly one of the best at teaching. Even when I'm tired, he can keep my attention with his teaching style.
Dit is een van de mogelijkheden van hoe je rooster eruit kan zien. In dit rooster begint de week meteen goed, met POR! POR is een les die je maar 3x per blok volgt, want het is niet echt een les. Bij POR heb je een gesprek met je mentor/SLB'er over de gang van zaken. Nederlands is natuurlijk vanzelfsprekend, en in het eerste jaar is dit gewoon een beetje van alles. Mentoruur is in tegenstelling tot het middelbare niet echt een huiswerkuur. Soms is het dat wel, en/of mensen gebruiken het als huiswerkuur. Maar de docent heeft bijna altijd wel wat te vertellen in mentoruur, en zo niet, gaat de les gewoon niet door. Na de pauze staat PRA erop; dit is precies wat het zegt, Praktijk, hier leer je alle vaardigheden te bundelen. Zulke dagen als dinsdag zitten er ook op; je hebt een ochtend vrij maar wel tot 5 uur. Ik heb in blok A gehad dat ik van 12 tot 1 moest (meer rijden dan school). Engels is net zoals Nederlands vanzelfsprekend, maar Engels heeft wel een twist. Met de docent op dit moment word je een beetje in het diepe gegooid. Het is een mooie uitdaging met zelfstandig werken, maar voor mensen die dat niet fijn vinden/niet kunnen is het wat minder fijn. Wat de docent doet is de stof die je nodig hebt voor het examen staat gewoon open. Je kunt alles in een week maken als je wilt. Je zult dus ook hebben dat een gedeelte van de klas al examen heeft gehad en de andere helft niet. Hierna heb je WEB. Deze lessen bestaan uit theorie en zelfstandige werktijd. In Blok A zul je vooral de basics krijgen (HTML en CSS). Codelab is bij ons geen vak meer, maar we hebben wel DIV in Blok A. Dit gaat alleen over teksten schrijven en Word en Excel enzo kunnen uitleggen aan anderen. NATIVE is het andere grote theoretische en zelfstandige vak. Terwijl WEB over webapplicaties gaat, zal NATIVE over de "native" applicaties gaan. Denk bij dit vaak aan een digitale wekker, een programma dat een functie uitvoert zodra iets goed of fout is. Je leert in het eerste blok alleen Python. Dan het laatste vak is PRO. Dit gaat eigenlijk over alles buiten het programmeren om. Hier leer je van interviews voeren tot ERD's maken.
Hier ziet u het blokkentraject, links de 4-jarige en rechts de 2-jarige. In het eerste blok zijn er nog geen versnellers; die worden er dan uit gehaald. Ze zeggen dat zodra je in de versnellers zit, het gaat "versnellen," maar ik heb niet veel gemerkt in blok B. Je krijgt er bij versnellen wel een vak bij. Je ziet dat de versnellers in leerjaar 3 blok G hebben; dit is zodat we dat jaar stage kunnen overslaan. Maar die stof hebben wij wel nodig; daarom hebben de versnellers in blok B ook Delta erbij. Dit geeft de stof van leerjaar 3 in leerjaar 1. Verder is er niet zoveel verschil. Je kunt zien dat zodra je in blok D komt, beide routes op stage gaan. Maar het blok daarna komt het normale traject alweer terug, maar zijn de versnellers nog weg. Dit is, zoals eerder benoemd, om dat jaar eraf te halen. Dit is ook waarom ik zou aanraden, als school niet te moeilijk is, om in blok A je best te doen om in de versnellers te komen; het scheelt gewoon een heel jaar.
